A little bit about me
Me? I’m a qualified time-traveller.
Actually, I have history degree, but I like to make ordinary things sound exciting.
It’s a useful skill for a copywriter.
My job is to imagine I’m someone else. I put myself in the shoes, wellies or flippers of the person you’re trying to reach. Then I dream up the best words to motivate them.
Sometimes, that means taking all your strategic thinking, research and insight and turning it into a three-word strapline. Others, it means taking the bare bones of an idea and working it up into a living, breathing campaign.
I’ve been a freelance copywriter for ten years. Almost all my work comes from repeat business and recommendations, which is nice.
Back in the day, I worked for an aid agency as a senior copywriter and magazine editor. Lots of rough travel, unbelievable stories and complicated stakeholders.
My first job was writing cartoons, quizzes and interviews for a children’s magazine. Now I’ve got little ones of my own, I’m working on a middle grade novel. Will I finish before they grow out of the age bracket?
But enough about me. I’m here to help you, to shout about your brilliant product, your service or your cause. If you’d like to chat, please say hello.
Have a project in the pipeline? Please get in touch if you think I can help. I’d love to hear from you.
